Nowadays, it’s hard to get proper maintenance and repairs for antique cars — either the shop nearby doesn’t have experienced technicians or there’s no YouTube videos to teach you how.
Not all shops can provide maintenance items for a 1940 Packard Super 8; Black Wolf can.
This Packard Super 8 left Black Wolf properly maintained to the highest standard.
Here’s what we did:
- Rebuilt brake master cylinder
- Tire rotation
- Replaced brake shoes and assessed wheel cylinders for rebuild/replacement
- Flushed brake system & filled master cylinder
- Diagnosed & repaired leak at rear brake drums
- Tightened/readjusted rear brake shoes
- Removed driveshaft & rear differential pinion seal
- Replaced fuel filter
- Replaced spark plugs
- Replaced upper & lower control arms
- Replaced front upper wheel support bushings
- Replaced front stabilizer bar bushings and end link bushings
- Grease all available front-end fittings
- Reinstalled springs, reconnected upper wheel support & reassembled front suspension
- Rebuilt gearbox
- Reinstalled steering & suspension components
- Secured horn to steering wheel
